This datapack adds flamethrowers to the base game in the form of a datapack + resourcepack.

Flamethrower

A flamethrower laying down on a table When the flamethrower is used, it produces flame particles out from the nozzle, and burns any entity that touches it. When said flame particles reach the ground, it will set the ground ablaze.

Mechanics

  • The flames travel up to 20 meters in length over the course of 1.5 seconds.
  • The flames will bounce off surfaces.
  • The flamethrower can only be used on the mainhand.
  • The flamethrower is invulnerable to fire.
  • If you are holding a flamethrower with fuel, you will explode upon death.
  • YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO YOUR OWN FLAMES, so be weary of your surroundings.

Recipes

  • The flamethrower can be crafted by placing a lava bucket in the center, 5 iron ingots in the form of a minecart, a flint and steel in the top left position, and 2 netherite ingots for fire invulnerability.
